AWS Backup

Monitors AWS Backup in Motadata ObserveOps by providing real-time visibility into backup job health, recovery points, protected resources, and backup plan compliance across vaults and regions.

Motadata ObserveOps includes AWS Backup monitoring, confirmed in release 8.2.4. Backup Vaults are discoverable per AWS region through the existing ObserveOps AWS Cloud discovery profile, so AWS Backup joins an AWS estate that is already onboarded for other AWS services without a separate discovery type. Monitoring covers four confirmed categories: backup job health, recovery points, protected resources, and backup plan compliance.

Supported Versions 

AWS Backup is a managed AWS service. The integration targets AWS Backup vaults, jobs, and recovery points under an AWS account rather than a fixed product-version list. This coverage is confirmed for release 8.2.4 and later.

Prerequisites for AWS Backup Integration with Motadata ObserveOps 

  • AWS Backup is enabled in the target AWS account and region.

  • The IAM role or user used for integration has read access to AWS Backup resources.

  • Required AWS Backup API endpoints are reachable from Motadata ObserveOps.

  • The AWS account is added in discovery with correct credentials and region configuration.
